Have a few more pics to post, may do so later in the week.
Ariella turns 4 in about a week. Jonah turns 1 a few weeks after that. We are getting ready for birthday parties and visits from family!
Meanwhile, I am training for the Silicon Valley Half-Marathon on November 4th. Hopefully there will be no injuries. I'm up to 6 miles in training - just registered for the big race today!

Happy July 4th
We haven't downloaded from our camera in a few weeks, but here are some pictures from early June that are sure to please. Plus, you MUST click on the link to the home movie of Ariella at her ballet class.
Here are the kids on May 31st, Jonah at 9 months, Ariella at 3 and three-quarters.

Out to dinner with Jakey and Zacky. Ariella is hugging Jakey. Later we saw them at a baby naming, and they were wearing matching blue blazers. Ariella told me she thought that they looked like princes, and that when she was older, she wanted to marry Jakey. That's after she asked me which one was which, though.

Last day of preschool, Palo Alto JCC Tsahov classroom. Liv, Gaia, Ariella and Hannah. The transformation from the beginning of the class as new 3-year-olds to the end of the class is amazing.

Ariella and Jonah saying goodbye to their babysitter Maya, a local college student who is going on a 10-week trip this summer to South Africa. The kids are counting the days until her return (as are the parents!).

Finally, here's the ballet video.

(note, she was fine - the glasses had to be fixed, but she was fine)
I have some other good video taken on the camcorder, which I have no idea how to get on the computer. Especially one of Jonah eating plums. Our plum tree went crazy this summer. We had at least 750 plums, maybe 1,000. Santa Rosa plums, too - very sweet and juicy.
Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Catching up on 3 months
This is going to be a mega-blog post. A lot has happened recently, all good news.
That's where we are. No big trips planned yet for the summer, but we're thinking about some possibilities.

Shy Ariella and Ariel the Little Mermaid
The family took a vacation to Florida in February. We saw Andi's mom Charlotte, and her great-aunt Ruth who is 98 and still going strong. Also saw Andi's sister Suzanne and husband Richard, and Andi's father Harvey & wife Judie. Then we took a trip, just the 4 of us, to Orlando to Disney World.
In March we celebrated Andi's birthday, and at the end of the month we drove down to LA for Passover with the Levinson-Mirell family. There was a special guest, a camel! Ariella sang the four questions in front of 50 people, while we kvelled. We also had a good time seeing lots of old friends.
Rick's mom Nancy and stepfather Ron came for a visit to Palo Alto. Rick also flew to Atlanta to surprise his dad for his 65th birthday.
Andi's mom came for a wonderful mother's day visit, and now Ariella is about to enter her last two weeks of preschool before the summer. This summer she has a dance class, a swimming class, and summer camp at the JCC. Ariella is a delightful little girl. At Disney World, she met both Ariel the mermaid and Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), and for the past three months, everything has been about princesses.
Meanwhile, Jonah turned nine months old, and the next day basically started crawling. He is 71% for height (2 ft, 4 in.), and 53% for weight (20.75 lbs). His head circumference continues to be off the charts. As you will see from the pictures, he is eating everything, including spaghetti w/ meat sauce (see last pic). He says 4 words, "mama," "dada," "baba (for bottle)," and "nahnah (for night-night)." He also waves and smiles. He smiles all the time.
That's where we are. No big trips planned yet for the summer, but we're thinking about some possibilities.
So we have so many pictures we hardly knew where to start, but here are the best of the last 3 months:

Jonah's First Solid Food
Hi everyone! Love the new Blogger software - so much easier to use. Here are 5 pictures catching everyone up to present. Jonah turns 6 months old on Friday. These are some pics from the last month and a half.
Here we are at New Years' Eve, where we had a party with our friends.

Here are Ariella and Jonah at Jonah's 5-month mark, hamming it up for the camera.

Jonah loves cuddling with the beautiful pillow made for him by cousin Aimee Nosomowitz.

Ariella and Jonah on 2/1/07. Ariella continues to amaze us with how smart and perceptive she is. She now knows how to read all of her letters, upper case and lower case, and is working on a few words. For example, she can read the names of all of the kids in her preschool class. And she has developed a great sense of humor. Her latest joke: she asked, "if a doggy sees something really amazing, mommy, does he go bow-WOW?" She also said, at 3 1/2 years, "when i'm everything that i want to be, i can do it all!"

And here's Jonah, just after trying solid food for the first time, on 2/4/07. I think the caption should be, "wait a minute, so that's what this eating thing is all about. yum!"
