Fall in Palo Alto

You want pictures? We got pictures! From Jonah's first birthday, to our trip to Michigan, to Rick's birthday and the High Holidays (when Jonah started walking), to Sukkot, to our trip in mid-October to LA for Guy & Jennifer's wedding, to the Halloween visit by Cheryl, to Rick's half-marathon, and finally to our recent visit by Papa Steve and Nana Donna. 34 new pictures, in total - plus the 3 I posted a couple of weeks ago. Just imagine these had been spread out over the last 3 months!

We are off now to Florida for Thanksgiving - more on that later.

Let's start on August 17 - Jonah's birthday.

Grandpa Ron and Grandma Nancy came for Jonah's first birthday.

First taste of chocolate. I'll have more, please!

Back at Charlotte's house, with the kids.

At home, with Jonah's first birthday present from Nana and Papa, about to drag race with Ariella.

A great picture from putt-putt golfing.

Break-fast of Yom Kippur fell on the day after Rick's birthday. We had people over. Here's Maya, the world's best babysitter and friend to us and the kids, with Ariella. (Jonah now says "Maya" to every college student with straight long hair that he sees).

The whole family, on Daddy's birthday.

Sukkot, end of September, 2007, with the Broussis.

Ariela, Andi, Ariella, and Galia.

Rick shows Jonah how to shake the lulav.

And now, to LA. This is in Santa Monica. We can't believe the kids posed for this shot.

At Guy & Jennifer's wedding. Doesn't Jonah look dapper in his tux?

We went to an apple festival the next weekend. Jonah, in the pumpkins.

At the Halloween party. (?)

On Halloween, Jonah was a bumblebee and Ariella was Sleeping Beauty.

Aw, aren't they cute?

Cheryl visited from New York, and snuggled with Ariella.

On November 4th, Rick ran the Silicon Valley half-marathon in 2:18. Andi and Ariella made a sign. This is just after the race.

Then Papa Steve and Nana Donna visited from Atlanta.

We went to the Children's museum in San Jose. We could NOT pry Jonah away from this truck.

One last snuggle with the grandkids.

Some New Pics

It has been a while since we have posted, mainly due to no time. And tonight, still no time - packing to drive to LA tomorrow for a wedding this weekend. But a lot has happened in the last two months. Jonah turned 1, started crawling like a speed demon, has started speaking words and communicating with us, and on my birthday a few weeks ago, he took his first steps. Now he is walking across rooms.

Here are a few pictures just from October. The first is from Sukkot, with the kids all dressed up. Last weekend, Rick ran a 5K, and Ariella and Jonah ran the kids races in Palo Alto. Ariella ran with the 4-year-olds, Jonah with the 1-year-olds (which really wasn't fair, because the 23-month-old kids were nearly twice his age!). A fun time was had by all.

We have many more cute pics and even a great video of Jonah walking, which we will get to soon - promise!

2 more from Ariella's party

Here are a couple of photos our friend Tish took at Ariella's party. Jonah's is tomorrow. The big boy turned one yesterday. He's cruising everywhere, and now standing every once in a while, for a few seconds.

Jonah crossing the finish line!

Summer Fun; Ariella Turns Four

We are having a great time this summer, as you can see from the pictures. Ariella is keeping busy going to JCC summer camp, which ends next week. And she turned four - we can't believe it. The family bought bicycles, and we have had fun biking with the kids. Jonah transitioned from the inchworm crawl to regular crawling - and he is fast! He started pulling himself up to standing, and now that's his favorite thing to do. That, and demonstrating to us how our house isn't babyproofed.

Andi has been busy with her book club, starting to get more involved with the JCC, and keeping up with two active kids. Ariella has had swimming lessons and ballet lessons this summer, in addition to camp. And Rick has been training for a half-marathon he is running November 4 - up to six miles now.

So here are a bunch of pictures from the last two months - next update after Jonah's first birthday, which is in less than two weeks!

Ariella shows off what she has learned in ballet class.

Also at 10.5 months, on 7/4/07, Jonah started crawling like a big boy.
He crawls fast now.

Ariella shows off her very advanced art skills. She drew that bird!

July 8, just before 11 months, Jonah starts using objects as "walkers."

Trip to SF, 7/14/07. At the Conservatory of Flowers.

Jakey, Ariella, and Zacky, 7/19/07, days before the boys moved with our good friends to New Jersey. We already miss them.

Andi baked a beautiful castle-cake, and surrounded it with princesses. Ariella was very happy with the results.
